The city of Nefol was built upon the Nefolian World by representatives from different peoples chosen by Zemi Dreigiau to bring together the primitive clans and foster a new society through the blending of cultures. These individuals made up the trio known as the Nefolian Founders.

The city was built within a safe mountain valley of the Inner Realms, designed to withstand the cold weathers and to be fortified against enemies of the Nefolians – such as the Ghost Clan.

Founders

ZenToYa, known as the Champion of the Dreigiau, was raised from a young age to take up the mantle of Nefolian leader. He was widely known a charismatic individual who was skilled in many realms of magic including destructive arts, healing arts, and mind magery. Zento was also versed the foreign fighting style of the Spiral due to the teachings of his battle instructor, Kudako.

JinRai, the battle-hardened Warleader of the Rai clan, brought the practical and deep understanding of clan leadership and culture that Zento lacked. He sought to balance out Zento’s more forward-thinking approach and helped to ground the developing city of Nefol in a way that would be welcoming and appropriate to the magic-wary tribes. Under Jin’s leadership, the Rai clan became the fiercely loyal warrior-militia pledged to protect the city of Nefol.

NaDoTu was the eccentric addition from the solitary southern Tu clan. These were a people who prided themselves on learning, advancement, and science, and dedicated their lives to understanding the lost technologies of the ruins thought to be from the Time Before. Through NaDo’s innovation, the city of Nefol was designed, the defenses secured, and a plan was developed to overcome the threats of the Ghost Clan. It was also under his leadership that the first school of learning for magic and technology came to exist in the Inner Realms.

Nefol’s Downfall… and Revival

Nefol fell to the corruption of Chaos as Zerom took control over the city and its people in an attempt to wrest power from Zemi in the Nefolian world. Zerom worked with the Ghost Clan to bring about the decay of the city from within, helping orchestrate the scattering of leadership that led to the death of JinRai and the exile of ZenToYa.

Zerom then sought to corrupt the sons of Zento, and was successful in tempting TsuYa into a web of chaos that altered his fate, dragging him down the path of darkness. Eventually, this corruption became wide-spread, many of the citizens either becoming Zerom’s Marked thralls or sacrificed as part experiment to create his own Sygnus, who would eventually become Luccious.

Ultimately Nefol was left abandoned for ages under the Dark Sygnus’ curse after the Nefolians escaped to the world Runne. However, SoYa was locked into this ghostly curse, his own fate tied to the gradual rot and decay of the city.

And this very curse would, in turn, become Nefol’s second chance at life. For the sons of ZenToYa do not so easily fall…
