Also known as the Blooded Moon in the BS Dimension.
This is a synthetic moon that acts as a spacefaring sanctuary, created by the Lunarians due to the destruction of their original homeworld. The central core of the moon is a housing chamber where most of the surviving populace was placed into cold sleep stasis until the Lunars could find a suitable location for a new colony.
In the Bluestar Dimension, the Red Moon may have been a pre-existing satellite that was later built upon using the remains of the Fifth Planet.
In the Darkstar Dimension, the Red Moon was a secret Runnian project, likely spearheaded by the Manor, and later hijacked by FuSoYa and KluYa. In Shimmer (Redux – Chapter 1, Page 2) KiNa expressed his frustrations at being left unaware of its true nature, which hints that even he was not brough into the fold on this project.
In both dimensions, the Red Moon was put into orbit around the Blue Planet while the Lunarians awaited a proper time to proceed with colonization. However, after the events of the Crystal Wars, FuSoYa made the choice to propel the moon away from the Blue Planet in search of a different world to colonize.
In the Bluestar Dimension, the moon is still in flight. As stated by Shape in Wayrift (Chapter 90, Page 27), resources are running out and the Lunarians run a risk of never finding a new home. In the Darkstar Dimension, the Red Moon is in orbit around the Nefolian world as the Lunarians create a new colony on that planet.
