Lumini (Naugtylumini)
The Lumini, also derogatorily called “Naugtylumini,” is a secret society of individuals from the Blue Planet in the DS Dimension. The origins and founder of this society have been lost to time (or just kept that secret), and remain unknown. However, the goal of the Lumini was to protect the races of the Blue Planet from what they considered to be an invasion from the alien race of Lunarians.
The Lumini contains representatives from every native society of the Blue Planet including humans, dwarves, elves, dark elves, and even those lesser known. This began as a gathering of champions and defenders of the world, but has slowly devolved into social cliques and racial factions as the years have passed.
Though the Lumini was founded with great intentions, this noble cause has been corrupted over time as individuals of great wealth and political status sought entry to the society and fought for ultimate control. These influential individuals see the Lumini as yet another tool of earning more wealth or power on a planetary scale for their own cause or their personal gain.
However, there are still members among the Lumini who fight to uphold the protection of the Blue Planet, despite the fact the society has earned the sneering nickname “Naugtylumini” amongst non-members who are aware of the group’s existence. One such member who is still loyal to the original cause is Bradhoc Browning.
Known Wayrift cast who are involved in the Naugtylumini include:
- Bradhoc Browning
- Portia Suksley
- Simon (Lunarian infiltrator)
- Vake
Bradhoc Browning
Bradhoc gets his own section on this page because he represents a Lumini member who was initiated at a young age, and still sees himself as a protector of the native races of the Blue Planet. He has heavily supported the cause through his great wealth, and has continued to meet and rally the local Baronian members in all efforts to fight back against the Half-Lunar monarchy that has taken root in Baron (from his point of view).
The Lumini served as a surrogate family structure for Bradhoc when his own family cast him away at a young age. The doctrines and ideas of the society have are the foundation for his entire life, and he even bears the society’s runic markings that indicate the depth of his dedication, something that few members have ever been granted. It’s said that Bradhoc’s unnatural magical prowess – for a human - and perhaps the fact that he surpassed his life expectancy given his fragile health, come from the power of those runes.
However, in Wayrift Chapter 79, Bradhoc was deserted by members of the local chapter of the Lumini, and set up by the Lunarian infiltrator, Simon, leading to a near-death experience. This has left Bradhoc torn with a feeling of betrayal from the society, and struggling with a loss of his lifetime identity and sense of belonging.
