Onyx Darkblade
Item Information
| Type: | Sword |
| Maker: | KluYa (DS Dimension) |
| Owner: | Benjamin Ya |
| Special Attributes: | Spirit Blade |
Lunarian sword crafted by KluYa that was passed down to Ben by FuSoYa. The sword is crafted of pure Soulfire, at extreme polarities to Ben’s dark gifts. Onyx loves to be noticed, often burning with a deep green light and humming when drawn for battle.
It has a large dark stone fitted into a claw-grip pommel and a second matching dark stone embedded into the guard. Though this design has changed slightly over the years, it still references some of the earliest art, dating as far back as 1994.
The blade is described as extremely large, a two-handed weapon that only someone of Ben’s stature could use. Cecil observes this in the Coming of the Darkstar story:
His eyes fell upon the blade that was strapped to the Lunarian’s back. The Paladin gave a deep swallow as his concept of the stereotypical mage shattered. Obviously, the stranger was a magic user. But he also carried a sword that was almost a head taller than Cecil himself.
Interesting Facts
- When Ben and Cecil fuse into the form of Sygnus, Onxy and Cecil’s Crystal Blade also fuse together.
