Summary

Ben and Aiden have decide that attempting to return home from the Borderlands may be too dangerous without more knowledge of how this dimension relates to their own. This is not pleasing news to Kory or Leona who really don't want to remain there any longer than they have to. After an argument, Leona storms out of the cottage and attempts to find her own way back home.

Ben follows after her at the promptings of Aiden. Upon catching up to her, they both hear a Voice in the forest. Due to some rather careless words on Ben's part, Leona gets upset and runs off leaving him alone. However, it is not long before he hears her shouts for help from the ocean shore.

Running to save her, Ben disregards one important fact – he cannot swim. As luck would have it, Aiden was spending some time fishing at the very same shore and observed with great alarm as his foolhardy son leapt without thought into the tide to save Leona.

Leona finds her foot snagged underwater by a line of kelp. She is dragged under only to find herself face to face with a mysterious man who resembles Ben. This man saves her by freeing her foot... just in time for her to see Ben dragged under the waves. As Leona attempts to save Ben, she is also dragged under. They are both finally rescued by the power of Aiden who in his great concern for the both of them controls the ocean itself to lessen the tide.

The two of them inform Aiden of the Voice in the forest and the island on which Leona saw the smoke of a fire. He sends Ben and Leona to the cottage to dry up while he goes to investigate. On the way, they discuss the happenings in the forest and begin to mend their wayward friendship. However, upon reaching the cottage, they find Kory in an absolute state of terror...
