Flames of Bedlam (Fiction)

The Flames of Bedlam is another name for Chaos.

Additionally, “Flames of Bedlam” is the origin story of the creatures that eventually became known as “Summoned Monsters” in the current age. It tells of how Bahamut came to be the first Dragon-kin and Sovereign of the creature tribe. It’s set in the Time Before and focuses on the conflicts of peoples over what is theorized to be a very ancient version of the Runnian planet.

Though initially, Bahamut embraces the Flames of Bedlam in his pain and rage, it is through the friendship of Leviathan (Levi) that he learns a different view of life. Namely, what it means to grow to care for others, form family bonds, then eventually protect and lead a group of people.

The story stands currently unfinished, but the characters of Bahamut and Levi were introduced in Wayrift on Chapter 88, Page 22.

Book 2 was intended to tell the story of the nest of Dragon eggs discovered by the group in Book 1. These young Dragons were to be raised by Bahamut and Levi’s clan and represented the origins of the different Dragon-kin clans of the Time Before.

No details were brainstormed about these Dragons, but each was to be a different color dragon, including the black dragon of the dark egg. Like the Dragon-kin of modern times, they would have the ability to take a person form as well as a Dragon form.
