History

As a young girl, Miran always wanted to take the long trek with her ranger uncle and seven cousins to the base of the Eastern Mountains. Instead, she was relegated to training riding chocobos in the relative safety of the family barn.

Although she enjoyed spending time training animals, it was far from the adventure that she dreamed of. This was all to change one fateful night when her beloved Uncle came home terrified to the brink of sanity, muttering about a terrible creature on the top of an obscure little peak called Mt. Ordeals.

Seeking vindication of her uncle, Miran took the assignment of leading a group of motley adventurers to investigate the truth of the claim. It was on this journey that she met Aiden KluYa, a servant to her childhood friend Kory of Eblana.

At first, she couldn't stand Aiden's odd quirks and standoffish, arrogant attitude. Most of all, she couldn't stand the fact that he had an uncanny way of being right about her inexperience and incompetence. But when disaster did strike, the two rivals found themselves depending on each other- and later- falling in love. Soon after, Miran married KluYa, settled down in a little house with a chocobo barn, and gave birth to her first son, Golbez/Zeb.

But life was not destined to be simple for Miran. It was only a few years into her marriage with KluYa that she discovered the truth behind his origins on the red moon. And as Zeb grew older, she found herself smoothing out relations between her husband and her son, who were both embroiled in a battle between family secrets and personal freedom.

Neither of them would win, and Zeb finally left home to seek his own personal fortune. After the bitter departure of their son, Miran comforted the sadness of her despondent husband, and she gave birth to her second son, Cecil. Tragically, she would never see Cecil grow up, as she and KluYa mysteriously disappeared without a trace after a mercenary raid on Mysidia two years later.

Disposition

As a young woman, Miran's strong character exhibited itself through her curse-touting mouth and overconfident nature. It was not unusual to see her picking fistfights with the neighborhood bullies.

Marriage and motherhood added poise and maturity to match her inner strength. It would be this strength of heart the allowed her to overcome the many trials with her unique position as a wife of a Lunarian. When "her boys" are troubled, she serves as a sounding board and tries to smooth out situations to the best of her ability.

While Miran is often calm at heart, she is still one not to back away from a fight. Occasionally, this can lead to a full-fledged quarrel between KluYa and herself.

Miran always has been curious by nature - and her curiosity has often led her into trouble. However brave Miran may seem by normal standards, she still can be easily terrified by all the mysteries and magic of the Lunarian race. Though Miran sometimes wishes that she understood all the otherworldly talents of her husband and sons, she is the first to realize the price paid for such powers.

Skills

  • Miran is trained in the way of breaking and training animals, specifically chocobos. She is a skilled chocobo rider, and enjoys taking long treks out into the wilderness.
  • Raised in the wilds of Mysidia, Miran enjoys backpacking and climbing, and is well-trained in wilderness survival and medicine.
  • Miran is a moderately-skilled fistfighter and possesses a mean left-hook. She also has a three-pronged grapple, which she wields as a mace when needed.

Items

Grapple Hook - Miran's trusted climbing tool and weapon since her days as an adolescent. It has three sharp prongs at the end and can also be used as a blunt weapon.
