The Beginning

Eighteen years after Cecil was brought to Baron as a toddler, the Crystal War began. Cecil had grown up relatively normal as a Knight in training. His talent and skill in battle led him to advance quickly through the ranks. Having taken up the way of the Dark Sword, he became a Dark Knight, and the Captain of the Redwings.

At this time, Golbez returned to the Blue Planet. His former life was washed away by the mind control of Zemus, and he had become a Dark Lord and extremely powerful Wizard of the dark arts. By Zemus' command, he began to seek out and take the Elemental Crystals from the kingdoms of the Blue Planet by force. The conflict leveled some of the major cities and left many deaths in his wake.

Cecil's Quest

Through dark plots and a twist of fate, Cecil became an exile from the Kingdom of Baron. Upon learning of the impending battle and destruction that was caused by Golbez's dark desires, he and a group of companions set out to stop the Dark Lord from gathering the Crystals. (*Note* Cecil was not aware that Golbez was his brother.)

During his quest, Cecil chose to cast aside his dark sword, and to take the trial upon Mt. Ordeals in attempt to become a Holy Knight, a Paladin. There, the spirit of KluYa tested his soul, and gave him the power of the Paladin's Light. (*Note* Cecil was not aware that the light on the mountain was his father, nor did KluYa ever reveal this to him.)

Truth Unfolds

Eventually, legend led to the uncovering of the Big Whale, and Cecil traveled to the Red Moon where he met his uncle, FuSoYa. There he learned the truth behind the Lunarian race, the manipulations of Zemus, and his own heritage.

However, it was not until a final meeting between Cecil and Golbez did he discover that the Dark Lord he had been fighting against was his own brother. It was there that FuSoYa broke Zemus' mind control over Golbez, and restored him to his own free will.

At once, Golbez was determined to return to the Red Moon to stop Zemus' plans from coming to pass. He and FuSoYa journeyed to the core of the Red Moon to face Zemus, and destroy him.

Upon Zemus' death, a greater evil rose up, a power hidden within his greatest hatred, to become the one known as Zeromus. Cecil and his companions faced Zeromus and ultimately defeated him.

After The Crystal Wars

Once the Crystal War was over, Cecil and his companions returned to the Blue Planet. There, Cecil was given the throne of Baron and he took his love, Rosa, to be his queen.
