The Destruction of the Lunar Homeworld
This story begins long before the rise of humankind, in a system much like our own. Here, two life-bearing planets existed -- one planet that orbited between Mars and Jupiter, and one planet that was similar to our own Earth, which came to be called the Blue Planet.
During this time, a people of great power flourished upon the planet between Mars and Jupiter. Even long before human evolution began, this race had already developed advanced technology while also mastering the magic of the elements and of the mind.
However, due to reasons still not fully understood, their planet fell into ruin. Of the populace, only a small number managed to escape upon space-faring ships. These interplanetary refugees turned their eyes toward making a new home upon the living world of the Blue Planet.
The Creation of the Red Moon
However, the refugees quickly discovered that the Blue Planet was already inhabited by the evolving peoples that came to be known as the humans. So, they decided that they would create a second moon - later known as the Red Moon - and place this moon into orbit around the Blue Planet. Here, they would remain and observe until the time came when the humans of the Blue Planet were able to co-exist with their people. It was then the refugees took upon the name "Lunarians".
The Lunarians' Great Slumber
Upon the surface of the Red Moon, the Lunarians constructed a crystal palace. Deep under the palace, within the core of the moon, they built chambers in which they set themselves into a deep slumber, so that time could not touch them.
There were some Lunarians who spoke out against subsiding into slumber to a "lesser" race of peoples. For it was thought by some that the humans were a people not unlike beasts. Afterall, the knowledge and power of the Lunarians was far, far more advanced.
There was one such Lunar, named Zemus, who attempted to refuse to sleep. Though he was later forced into sleep by the Lunar Guardian FuSoYa, his mind remained awake, his thoughts plotting on how to make the Blue Planet his own.
So it was that the Lunarians remained wrapped in their slumber, and the Blue Planet lay unknowing of the watchers from above.
The Coming of KluYa
After much time had passed, FuSoYa's younger brother, KluYa, took it upon himself to journey down to the Blue Planet. KluYa felt a calling to go to the living world, and sough to encourage the advancements of the people there. In turn, this would hopefully speed up the meeting between Lunarians and humans, and enable the refugees to find their new home. So, KluYa created the ship known as the Big Whale, and left his people to live in secret among the still-evolving societies of the humans.
While upon the Blue Planet, KluYa grew sympathetic towards the people there, and began to introduce new concepts and advanced ideas to the humans. Though many of his contributions go unclaimed, some of the creations considered to be his work include: the knowledge of higher magics, the making of the Serpent Road, the early designs of Airships, and the creation of the Elemental Crystals.
In time, KluYa fell in love with a woman of the earth and took a human to be his wife. Together they had two sons -- Golbez and Cecil.
The Wrath of Zemus
Around the time Cecil turned two years old, tragedy struck KluYa and his family. Zemus' wrath towards the Blue Planet (and possibly KluYa, as well) had only intensified over the years. And with this, he attacked.
During this conflict, KluYa's wife was slain. KluYa himself was also defeated -- his spirit was torn from his being and entombed upon the top of a mountain known as Mt. Ordeals.
His eldest son, Golbez, was stolen away by Zemus. Imprisoned in the Tower of Zot, the youth's mind was twisted as he was molded into a weapon that Zemus would later unleash upon the Blue Planet in his efforts to dominate the humans.
Cecil managed to survive, though he was left as an orphan. The child was found in the city of Baron and taken into the care of the King of Baron. His true heritage, however, remained a mystery as he grew up among the humans, even himself.
