Jeren: That is no excuse for being a coward! Or a failure.

Kory: No, it isn't, is it? *takes off some of his armor* That is why I'm not going home. I have a third-class ticket on a ship to Mysidia that leaves tonight.

Jeren: What? You're just going to pick up and leave? Because of one small bump in the road?

Kory: I'm going to go and study at the academy... mechanics? Maybe astronomy? Who knows? My missing presence may help to call less attention to the blemish on the family line.
